Municipal Ordinances-- The issues in this case certified to the Supreme Judicial Court by the United States Court of Appeals for the First Circuit involve the legality of Springfield ordinances regarding mediation and upkeep of residential properties subject to foreclosure.

Labor Law-- This appeal arises from a grievance by a firefighters' union claiming that the town violated a collective bargaining agreement by increasing co-payments required for medical services under health insurance plans.

  (Reserve Case)
Domestic Relations-- This appeal involves the enforcement and modification of support orders by the Probate and Family Court where the orders had been issued in a California proceeding and were subsequently registered in Massachusetts.
