The Reference Librarians of Sawyer Library have authored dozens of Resource Guides to provide Suffolk students and faculty with useful research options. These annotated subject-oriented guides cover everything from how to find industry information to how to find materials in marine science.
We are in the process of moving our guides to an online service called LibGuides. This versatile platform, which updates live when we add new information, allows us to better create "attractive guides, share knowledge and information, and promote library resources to the community." Our energies are being directed towards populating our guides in this new system. Therefore, the PDF guides, organized in the left frame of this page, are no longer being kept up-to-date. So, whenever possible, use the Sawyer Library help and research guides available at:
Wherever they are located, our guides usually start by suggesting the best library databases for identifying valuable academic journal literature or reference book entries on a topic. They will also list significant print materials in the subject area. In addition, our librarians have attempted to identify websites that are reliable and useful enough to warrant consideration by researchers at a university level. (Most general websites do NOT deserve academic consideration!)
