Track One: Educational Transition Assistance

Track One includes career counseling, assistance filling out college applications, financial aid awareness, tutoring and assistance in writing college entrance essays if necessary, and other relevant activities designed to help a veteran enter and succeed in a program of post-secondary education the following semester.

 

Track Two: Skill Enhancement Online

Track Two is geared towards individuals who need academic refreshing but cannot attend traditional classes at Veterans Upward Bound.  Our MySkills Tutor Program is great for brushing up on Math and English before taking placement exams, or take on the full My Skills Challenge to enhance your skills.  This program provides the self-paced flexibility to fit a busy schedule and allows students to go through the lessons as many times as they would like.  Completion of the My Skills Challenge is equal to completing two college courses.

 

Track Three: Classroom-Based Instruction

Track Three provides traditional methods of instruction through classroom participation.  Participants develop critical skills necessary for success in post-secondary education.  Federally mandated curriculum for Veterans Upward Bound consists of instruction in the following subjects: Math, Composition and Literature, Foreign Language, and Laboratory Science.
