Am I eligible to participate in the plan?

• If you work in a position that is not contingent on student status, you are eligible to participate in the VTDA immediately upon hire.

If you wish to participate in the VTDA, please read through the New Participant section below for further instructions.

• New employees are not eligible for the SRP. In order to be eligible for it, you must be in an eligible class of employee (titled faculty or employee who works in a position not contingent on student status). You must also have completed one year of service (as defined by at least 1,000 hours in a 12-month period) and have attained a minimum age of 26.

However, if you were employed at another institution of higher education immediately before your employment with Suffolk, this service may count toward the one year of service requirement. To waive the one year of employment requirement you will need to complete a  Verification of Immediate Eligibility  form.
