Microsoft Entourage is not required to use email on the Mac. The Microsoft Outlook Web App is available on the Web at http://umail.suffolk.edu. 

Entourage is the only desktop email program for the Mac that is compatible with the Microsoft Exchange Server. It can be configured for the University servers by creating a new Profile.

For best performance, we recommend that you install Entourage Web Services Edition on your Macintosh computer. If you need assistance, contact the Help Desk.

Installing Entourage Web Services Edition

The installation of Entourage Web Services Edition is an upgrade from earlier versions of Entourage, and requires that you have that Microsoft Office 2008 on your computer.

1. Navigate to your Applications folder.
2. Open the Microsoft Office 2008 folder
3. Select the an icon for the Office Setup Assistant.
4. The Setup Assistant will launch.  that answer the two questions one being no.
5. Perform a manual check for updates. If the Assistant finds updates, install those updates. Peform this check again, and repeat until there are no additional updates to install.to see if there are ant updates.
6. The install of office 2008 web services edition will now install.

Note that, if you have local email, you should export this to a .rge file

Setting Up A New Account

1. When you first run Entourage Web Services Edition you will be prompted to set up a new account.
   
   
   Contacts and calendar events will be imported later.
2.  Make sure to select the checkbox for My account is on an Exchange Server.
   
   
3. You don’t need to enter Domain information. The account ID is that part of your email address before @suffolk.edu. You can select the Keychain option if you wish.
   
   
4. Click OK
   
   
   
   
5. You'll see that your information has been entered automatically.
   
   
6. Click on Verify My Settings
   
   
   
   
7. Give your account a name.
   
   

You are now ready to access your Suffolk Email with Entourage on your Mac.
