Touching All the Bases: A Red Sox History
Adams Gallery Revels in Baseball Legends of Yesterday & Today

BOSTON -- Touching All the Bases: A Red Sox History at Suffolk University’s Adams Gallery takes a historical journey with Boston’s hometown heroes.

The story begins in 1901, when the American League first fielded a team in Boston. The glory days came early for the Red Sox, but then followed 86 years of dashed hopes and desperation. Everything changed last year when the 2004 World Series Championship brought redemption to the Red Sox.

The exhibit relives the joys and heartbreaks of more than a century through photographs, cartoons and artifacts. The Red Sox legend encompasses players like Cy Young, Babe Ruth, Ted Williams and Carl Yastrzemski, and Touching All the Bases depicts them in all their glory. Artifacts include a chunk of the left-field wall and Johnny Damon’s batting gloves.

Touching All the Bases: A Red Sox History is at the Adams Gallery from June 6 through September 2, 2005.

Suffolk University’s Adams Gallery, 120 Tremont Street, Boston, presents exhibits on historical themes. The gallery’s windows look out onto Tremont Street and the Freedom Trail in the historic heart of Boston, making it a natural site for exhibits of original materials or reproductions of importance in the chronology of Boston and New England. It is open from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily. For information: http://www.suffolk.edu/adams_gallery/index.html, 617-305-1782.
