Ford Hall Forum Presents "Think Again" with Sydney Finkelstein

Sydney Finkelstein

The Ford Hall Forum at Suffolk University will present best-selling author Sydney Finkelstein, presenting "Think Again: Why Good Leaders Make Bad Decisions and How to Keep it from Happening to You" from 6:30-8 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 19, at the University's C. Walsh Theatre, 55 Temple St., Boston.

History is full of brilliant leaders making incredibly poor choices. From President John F. Kennedy’s Bay of Pigs invasion to Wall Street’s heavy bets in the mortgage market, we see people with extraordinarily powerful cognitive abilities make terrible decisions.

Finkelstein, the Steven Roth Professor of Management for the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth College, joins Sally Jackson, public relations consultant and founder of Jackson & Company, to addresses the specific ways our minds are lured into making misguided judgments and why organizations so often fail to correct the mistake.

He also identifies the way wise leaders sidestep these pitfalls and how you can do the same.

The Ford Hall Forum is the nation’s oldest free public lecture series. It promotes freedom of speech and fosters an informed and effective citizenry through events that illuminate the key issues facing our society.

The forum presents knowledgeable and thought-provoking speakers, including some of the most controversial opinion leaders of our times, in settings that facilitate frank and open debate.
