The quarterly orientation programs offered by the Human Resources Office provides new staff an opportunity to meet with the President and members of the Administrative Council. The program includes interactive modules in understanding your work style and the best way to integrate that with the style of others as well as a program on excellence in customer service.
The Office of Career Services and Cooperative Education, staffed by a number of trained career counselors, provides individual career counseling and/or job strategizing. The staff helps employees assess career interests and abilities and create and implement strategies and techniques to achieve career goals.
The Ballotti Learning Center offers programs and services designed for students who want to: boost their GPA, utilize time more effectively, better understand course content, and strengthen study strategies and skills. Some of these services include: academic coaching, study skills workshops, and tutoring and study groups in business, science and statistics courses.
These services are extended to employees who are enrolled in courses. The BLC is also a regional CLEP testing center and employees are welcome to take advantage of this service.
The Office of Diversity Services is at the center of Suffolk’s efforts to maintain a welcoming climate on campus for everyone. Diversity Services is the primary resource for African American, Hispanic, Asian, and Native American (AHANA) and gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender (GLBT) members of the campus community.
