Podcasting has been steadily growing at the College since we began it as a pilot last spring semester. The University has an account with iTunes U, which is easily accessible through Blackboard courses. Faculty who have participated in the pilot have been capturing audio lectures, screencasts, Powerpoint with audio, videos, test reviews and discussion groups that students can easily access outside of class on their computers or portable media players in the private area of iTunes U.

Guest lectures or other program or departmental events can also be podcasted. Podcasts can be delivered privately to only the students in a given course, or publicly through Suffolk's future listing in the iTunes Music Store.

Podcast capture can happen live during class time or outside of class in faculty offices, at home or anywhere on campus with assistance. CAS Academic Technology is also constructing a Podcasting Studio in the Fenton building that should be ready by early October.

Let us know your ideas and/or needs and we will work with you individually. Please contact Michelle Bolser in Academic Technology at mbolser@suffolk.edu for support. Suffolk's public presence in the iTunes store is anticipated to be launched this fall. In the meantime be sure to visit iTunes U in the iTunes Music Store to see what other colleges and universities have been creating!
