• Ronald E. McNair, PhD.

The Ronald E. Mc Nair Postbaccalaureate Achievement program was established in 1989, three years after the Challenger Space shuttle incident, which claimed the life of Dr. Ronald E. McNair.

The program is a federally funded TRIO program that prepares low-income, first generation undergraduate students, and students underrepresented in graduate education, for doctoral study through research and other scholarly activities.

McNair Scholars are dedicated to the process of higher education - both their own, as students, and the education of others, as future professors and researchers.  It is this dedication, as well as their intellectual curiosity and ambition, that they uphold the spirit of the program's namesake, Dr. Ronald E. McNair.
