RedDot Training Sessions: 2011 - 2012

Web Services will offer training for the web Content Management System (RedDot / OpenText).

Attendees to either Author/Editor or Open House sessions must register no later than 24 hours before the session.  Please note that registrants should withdraw from class no later than 24 hours before training begins.

ITS Web Services will be conducting CMS (RedDot / OpenText) training on the following dates and times. Each training class will be up to 3 hours long and will cover the items that are outlined in the CMS Users guide located at http://www.suffolk.edu/offices/22003.html . This training will walk you through the steps to edit and create new web pages and will provide guidelines on good web practices at this training class.

Any class with less than 2 confirmed registrants will be cancelled and the registrants will be rolled to the next scheduled class. Please note that ITS Web Services will not be conducting one on one sessions for a registrant who is unable to attend a scheduled class.

We will be conducting RedDot training on the following dates in the ITS Training Room unless otherwise indicated:

Author/Editor Training

For users who will be editing and updating content on their web site. This 2 hour introduction to the RedDot Content Management System covers

  • Editing existing content
  • Creating new content pages and FAQ-style pages
  • Using the Text Editor
  • Linking to pages, files, and images
  • Version control
  • Submitting your content to workflow for review, approval and publishing

Note: Attendance to the full 3 hour training session is required for access to the system.

Attendees should download the Web Content Provider's Guide and bring it to class. This manual is updated periodically.

Author/Editor training Location, Dates, and Times:

All sessions will be held in the ITS Training Room on the 7th floor of the Sawyer Building unless otherwise indicated.  Always check for updated information on location changes..
