Wawa, MA in Interior Design
Wawa wanted to pursue a Master's degree in Interior Design, but before she could apply to a graduate-level design program, she had to develop her visual arts skills. By beginning her studies through the School of Art & Design's Continuing Education Division, Wawa completed the preparatory coursework she needed and did so at her own pace, building an application portfolio in the process. After acquiring the requisite visual arts background, Wawa applied and was admitted to the Master of Arts in Interior Design program.

My Path to Grad School
I became interested in a career in Interior Design and began taking foundational classes at Suffolk University as a continuing education student. I chose the School of Art & Design for my graduate studies because of the superb reputation of its Master of Arts program in Interior Design, which is accredited by CIDA. The learning experience at the School of Art & Design, was outstanding, and I could feel myself starting to think and talk as a designer. I learned how to communicate design concepts through both hand drawing and computer design software, and I learned to consider materials, finishes, and lighting comprehensively to create desirable interior environments to fit the needs of clients.
My Thesis Project
My thesis work is titled Porcelain House, through which I hope to enhance cultural communication by bridging the past and the present with the medium of porcelain. I benefited tremendously from the supervision of Professor Nancer Benkaci, Victoria Mohar (adjunct faculty member; President, MoharDesign, LLC), and Chu Foxlin (Architect, Tsoi Kobus Architects) during the thesis process. As a result I won the Design Excellence Award for my thesis project.
Post-Graduation Update
Since graduation, Wawa joined Tsoi Kobus Architects as an Interior Designer.
