Equipment

The library has seven public computer workstations and three printers. The Materials Library has a workstation, scanner and printer. A photocopier is available for student use. The library also functions as the AV center for the department lending out a variety of digital cameras, video cameras, LCD projectors and other equipment.

Fenway Library Consortium

The University belongs to a cooperative of area libraries. Member libraries include Simmons, Emerson, Lesley, Emmanuel, Mass Art, the School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Wheelock, Wentworth and UMASS Boston. Suffolk students may use these collections and check out circulating books from most of them with their Suffolk University IDs. Review the FLC list at www.fenwaylibraries.org for directions to member libraries and links to their online catalogs.

Materials Library

A dedicated Materials Library, modeled after those found in interior design and architectural firms, offers a comprehensive collection of fabric samples, wall and floor coverings, plastic laminates, wood and glass products, hardware, and paints.

Circulation Policies

You must have a valid, current Suffolk University ID to borrow any item from the School of Art & Design library. Books may be borrowed for 28 days and movies for one week. Books may be renewed via the Web, telephone or by bringing them to the Circulation Desk. A book may be recalled after 14 days if requested by someone else. If not requested by another patron, items may be renewed twice. If an item is not returned when it is due, an overdue notice will be sent requesting the return of the item within 10 days of the date on the notice. If the item is not returned after the 10 days, a bill will be sent for the cost of the item plus a $5.00 handling fee. A copy of the bill is sent to Student Accounts and the total amount is added to your account. If the item is returned after the bill has been sent, the replacement cost will be removed from your account, but the $5.00 handling fee must still be paid.
