If you decide to join us on this incredible journey, here is what you might expect:

Day 1: 

Arrival at Suffolk University Madrid Campus
Welcome reception and Camino overview

Day 2:

Historic walking tour of downtown Madrid
Prado Museum visit

Day 3: 

Depart for O’Cebreiro (Galicia)
Visit to Camino churches and monastery

Day 4: O’Cebreiro – Triacastela

Stage 1 of the Camino walk (21.7 kms / 13.5 miles)
Visit to O Cebreiro and the Samos Monastery

Day 5: Triacastela – Sarria

Stage 2 (24.5 kms / 15.2 miles)
Spectacular views, passing by ancient monasteries and small villages

Day 6: Sarria – Portmarín

Stage 3 (22 kms / 13.6 miles)
Emblematic day of beautiful scenery; “Km. 100” of the route

Day 7: Portmarín-Palas de Rei

Stage 4 (23.9 kms / 14.8 miles)
Multiple signs indicative of the pilgrimage route, such as the famous “cruceiros” or crosses

Day 8: Palas de Rei – Arzua

Stage 5 (28.8 kms / 17.8 miles)
Province of La Coruña with many eucalyptus and pine groves, along with numerous medieval bridges; also, the region’s magnificent cuisine

Day 9: Arzu – Pedrouzo

Stage 6 (19 kms / 11.8 miles)
Pleasant, easily walkable terrain amongst many trees and with gentle curves, alternating with areas close to the highway

Day 10: Pedrouzo – Santiago de Compostela

Stage 7 (20 kms / 12.4 miles)
Mixed feelings, both of wanting to reach the end of the road while feeling sad to think that it’s almost over
Arrival to Santiago de Compostela

Day 11:

Choice: Either (1) stay in Santiago de Compostela to explore the city, or (2) spend the day in Cambados on the Atlantic Ocean (due west by bus from Santiago)
Depart for Madrid

Day 12:

Free time in Madrid
Farewell Dinner

Day 13:

Return flight
