At Suffolk University Madrid Campus, all students are required to have health insurance coverage during their stay in Spain. In many cases, the Spanish Consulate requires proof of medical/accident insurance before granting a Spanish Student Visa.

Suffolk Madrid provides students this required comprehensive medical and accident insurance coverage through a local Spanish company, Sanitas, and all students will be charged the Mandatory Health Insurance Fee.

The student health insurance plan is Sanitas Multi. A detailed description of coverage and conditions can be found here: Sanitas Multi policy.

Sanitas Multi allows you to choose among 20,000 doctors and 420 health centers and go directly to the specialist most suited to your needs. You will be able to choose the medical professional who best suits your needs, be it your general practitioner or a specialist from its extensive network of medical professionals.

    * Diagnostic exams and therapeutic methods.

Sanitas may not cover pre-existing conditions. If you have a pre-existing condition, you need to provide evidence that you will be covered by some other health insurance while in Spain. In such cases, Suffolk University assumes no responsibility regarding the students' health and the insurance coverage, as it is an obligation of the student to provide accurate information. During Orientation week, once in Madrid, students are required to sign the following Acknowledgement of Understanding of Terms.
