Dr. Ben Lovett, Elmira College. Although testing accommodations are now very commonly given to students with disabilities, the decision to provide them is often based on tradition and intuition rather than empirical research. In this presentation, Dr. Lovett will first describe a conceptual model for determining whether a testing accommodation is appropriate, before reviewing empirical research concerning each aspect of the model.
Dr. Lovett is an assistant professor of psychology at Elmira College in Elmira, N.Y.; his research has been published in journals including School Psychology Review, the Journal of Psychoeducational Assessment, and the Journal of Learning Disabilities.
