  1. Job Title: Office Assistant

    General Summary: Assisting staff with Math Support Center operations.

    Principle Duties, Responsibilities, and other Job Related Information

    • Data Entry (Excel, Word)
    • Cstomer service ( answering calls, handling walk-in students for tutoring) 
    • Uiversity Errands ( picking up scrap paper from other offices, deliveries) 
    • General office ( Filing, Sharpening pencils, copying)

    Position Requirements:

    • Ability to communicate effectively
    • Strong interpersonal skills 
    • Ability to file
    • Basic knowledge of word and excel
  2. Job Title: Math and/or Computer Science grader

    General Summary: Grade papers as assigned by the instructors the student was matched with.

    Principle Duties, Responsibilities, and other Job Related Information:   

    • Pliminary meeting with assigned instructor (discussion of specific grading duties, completion of grading contract)
    • Follow up meeting with assigned instructor (discuss any questions or problems)
    • Grade assigned homework and return in the manner agreed upon in grading contract.
    • Record grades and provide them to assigned instructor.
    • Communicate regularly with assigned instructor and Jill Waldman/ Jeanne Dodge

    Position Requirements:

    • Adequate math/ computer science background (normally math 165 or computer science 131 or equivalent as assessed by full-time MSC personal)
    • Rliability, punctuality, maturity
    • Strong communication skills
    • Able to work well with others
  3. Job Title: Math and/or Computer Science tutor

    General Summary: Tutor students who seek help in math or computer science in the Math/CS Support Center or appropriate computer science help locations.

    Principle Duties, Responsibilities, and other Job Related Information:

    • Tutor individual to small group of students who seek our service.

    Position Requirements:

    • Adequate math/ computer science background (normally math 165 or equivalent or computer science 131 or equivalent as assessed by full-time MSC personal)
    • Reliability, punctuality, maturity
    • Strong communication skills
    • Able to work well with others
    • Tutors should be pleasant. Patient, diplomatic, and easy going, and should be good listeners.
    • Tutors should be cordial with students, but always remain professional and businesslike.
