For students interested in simultaneously pursuing formal studies in other fields in addition to crime and justice studies, the Department of Sociology offers concurrent (joint) graduate degree programs with the School of Law (JD), the Sawyer Business School (MS in Public Administration) and the Department of Psychology (MS in Mental Health).

These programs provide students with a rich educational experience and a broad range of professional options, as well as the opportunity to earn dual Master of Science or Juris Doctor degrees in less time than would be required to earn each independently. Qualified applicants must be admitted separately to each degree program, with a certain number of courses or credits from each program accepted toward the other’s degree requirements.

Students pursing concurrent degrees ultimately gain a better understanding of the relationship between various disciplines and institutions that enhance their potential for professional success and contribution within their chosen field.

Further details on these program options may be obtained by contacting Professor Donald Morton, Director of the Graduate Program in Crime and Justice Studies, at 617.305.1990 or drmorton1@yahoo.com.
