Frank Irizarry is a Visiting Assistant Professor in the Department of Communication and Journalism. He received his M.A. in Speech Communication from Northern Illinois University and his B.A. from Marist College. He is currently finishing his Ph.D. in the College of Mass Communications and Journalism at The University of Florida. His emphasis is in Health Communication and Public Relations. His scholarly interests include public relations, health communication, persuasion, communication apprehension, critical studies of popular culture and scientific communication. Frank will be teaching public relations courses at Suffolk University.
Prior to joining Suffolk, Frank served as the Director of Policy Debate and as Director of the Basic Speech Course at The University of Florida. Frank was a Lecturer, teaching courses in Public Relations, Argumentation and Legal Communication. He served at The University of Florida for eight years. While at The University of Florida, he developed courses for an on-line program in Gerontology Studies, taught graduate courses in Professional Communication for the University of Florida Business School.

Served as a consultant for the National Forensic Science Technology Center, a program developed from a grant administered through the Department of Justice to develop and implement communication-training protocol D.E.A. scientists, forensic toxicologists, ballistics experts, A.T.F. agents, and Crime Science Investigators.
Served as Director of Public Relations for Daytona Beach Thunderbirds Arena Football (af2) team.
