Your Suffolk University ID is a unique seven (7) digit number used by the university in place of your social security number.
If you haven't received it yet, contact the Registrar's Office to request your Suffolk ID number. You may obtain your Suffolk
University ID Card from the University Police office located in the lobby of the Sawyer Building, 8 Ashburton Place.
Every member of the Suffolk University community is provided with a Suffolk email account. Faculty and staff receive a user ID and
password upon hiring. You can connect to your Suffolk email via the web at http://www.sumail.suffolk.edu or by using an email client, such as Thunderbird, Outlook, or Mac OSX Mail to access your email. Email support is provided by Suffolk University's ITS department, at helpline x2000.
To use any of the computer facilities (labs, classrooms, offices), you must obtain a Computer User Account. The purpose of this account is to gain access to your computer, its applications and the network. You will receive this information from Human Resources upon hiring, or you may contact your department secretary if you have not received it.
Academic Technology provides a fully configured computer to every faculty and staff member upon hire. We provide reasonably current hardware and standard software as part of the package. Additional research or academic software is also available by special request as needed.
Web server space and FTP accounts are available to faculty and staff who request them.
Campus Cruiser is the current university portal. It provides access to campus and personal announcements, grading, and essential information about your courses and students. In addition, it provides access to Blackboard, our course management system and convenient links to other university resources. Your portal account consists of a username and password. If you have not received it, please contact your department secretary. You will be able to automatically sign in to Blackboard once you access Campus Cruiser. Courses that you are teaching will be automatically available to you every semester.
Most of our classrooms are state-of-the-art and well-equipped with multimedia technology, offering the ideal technology-enhanced learning environment for both students and instructors.
