Shouting Theatre in a Crowded Fire
Adapted from the writings of Howard Zinn
Written & Directed by Wesley Savick
Originally Produced by the National Theatre of Allston
Equal parts Marx and Marx Brothers, Shouting Theatre in a Crowded Fire catapults the writings of Howard Zinn through a dizzying American landscape of game shows, pop music, and fractured reenactments of the Group Theatre, the Living Theatre and The Crucible.
Special Post-Show Discussion:
Following Friday evening’s performance of Shouting Theatre in a Crowded Fire, the Theatre Department hosts a post-performance discussion with some of Boston’s most notable theatre artists to investigate how they have used theatre to find a political voice. The discussion features The Theater Offensive’s Artistic Director and founder Abe Rybeck, actor and OBIE-winning writer Robbie McCauley, and David Wheeler, director and former Artistic Director of the Theatre Company of Boston, and will be moderated by Theatre Department Chair, Dr. Marilyn Plotkins.
Tickets: $15, $5 students, seniors & Suffolk community
