I have been producing and directing theatre for over 30 years and acted in many university, stock, and Off-Off Broadway musicals and plays. As director of theatre at Suffolk University, I have facilitated hundreds of professional performing arts events including the American premiere of David Mamet’s Obie Award-winning play The Cryptogram with Felicity Huffman and Ed Begley, Jr.
As founding director of the Boston Music Theatre Project (BMTP), I have developed professional new musicals for 15 years. I currently serve on the New Works panel for the National Alliance for Musical Theatre.
As Theatre Department Chair, I have been supervising student directed plays for 16 years and directed 22 plays and musicals, including Tony Kushner’s adaptation of Brecht’s Good Person of Setzuan; Anna Deveare Smith’s Fire in the Mirror; David Mamet’s translation of Chekhov’s Three Sisters (American College Theatre Festival Semi-Finalist); Kander and Ebb’s Cabaret (ACTF Finalist); Sam Shepard’s Buried Child (ACTF Alternate Finalist); Sondheim’s Gypsy and Assassins; and Kaufman and Hart’s You Can’t Take It With You.
