Each academic year, the Sawyer Business School and the Public Management Department, host the State and Local Luncheon, at the Massachusetts State House. The luncheon is a way to bring MPA students, alumni, and friends of the MPA program, together for an opportunity to network, and discuss current public sector issues. Each year, we bring a guest from either state government, or local government, to speak on the topics which impact not only our work, but our society.
The Second annual State and Local Luncheon focused on local government, with remarks by the City of Lawrence's Mayor, Michael J. Sullivan. His presentation focused on the major capital improvement program, and local business improvement for the City of Lawrence.
Massachusetts State Treasurer, Timothy Cahill discussed the State of the Local and National Economy with Suffolk students and alumni, at the Third Annual State and Local Luncheon.
