For seven years Ellen was CEO of Tufts Medical Center. Tufts is a critical player in urban healthcare delivery. When Ellen arrived at Tufts Medical Center, the institution was in financial turmoil:
"We were burning through $4 million per month and the hospital was geting close to no longer being able to exist. Part of me was completely overwhelmed."
This is a story of how Ellen turned around a complex system to become a national leader in healthcare delivery. She received a Lifetime Achievement Award from the American College of Healthcare Executives.
