David Ferry returns this year for the third time as a Distinguished Visiting Scholar in the College of Arts and Sciences. Professor Ferry is the 2011 winner of the prestigious Ruth Lilly Prize for a lifetime of poetic achievement that includes five books of his own poetry and acclaimed translations of the Gilgamesh epic, the Odes of Horace, the Eclogues and Georgics of Virgil, as well as his own translation-in-progress of Virgil's Aeneid. This will be his last poetry reading event of the school year; don't miss it! Free and open to the public.
