4:00-5:30pm
First Floor Function Room, Suffolk Law School
120 Tremont St, Boston

孔教在當代. Dr. Roger T. Ames, University of Hawai’i. A perfect storm is brewing: climate change, food and water shortages, environmental degradation, energy shortages, gross income inequalities. Do we need a radical change in our values, intentions and practices in order to overcome these problems? China had been promoting Confucianism, its age-old value system, as an answer. Roger Ames is perhaps the leading Western scholar on the topic of Chinese philosophy and values. He will address our world and the Chinese value system that even the Chinese thought was dead.

The talk is sponsored by Middlesex Community College and the Asian Studies Development Program and co-sponsored by the Rosenberg Institute for East Asian Studies at Suffolk. The program is free and open to the public. Light refreshments will be served.
