• Analytic vs. Continental Philosophy

Part of the Spring 2012 Philosophy Colloquium Series

Tuesday, January 31, 2012
10th Floor Large Conference Room (10-100), 73 Tremont St

Analytic philosophy is the tradition practiced largely in Britain and America, having a preference for the careful analysis of concepts and problems, with a penchant for the methodologies of the sciences, especially logic; Continental philosophy has its roots largely in Germany and France and has a strong preference for the history of philosophy and the methodologies of humanities.

Join us for an open discussion of the history and repercussions of these movements.

As a prompt to discussion, a reading can be found here.

All are welcome!

Sponsored by the Philosophy Department.
