Marketing Your Military Service

Suffolk University is hosting a free daylong seminar, “Marketing Your Military Service,” to provide resources and tools for job seeking veterans from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 2, at the Rosalie Stahl Center, 9th floor, 73 Tremont St.

The program, offered in collaboration with the Massachusetts Executive Office of Labor and Workforce Development and the Massachusetts Department of Veterans’ Services, will assist veterans who are entering or returning to the work force to properly maximize the Massachusetts’ resources available to them.

Suffolk University Acting President and Provost Barry Brown and Secretary of Veterans’ Services Coleman Nee will deliver the welcoming remarks.

Nee also will moderate the opening panel “Maximizing Resources to Launch Your Civilian Career.” 

The afternoon program features a Resource Expo which includes the University’s Undergraduate, Graduate and Law Admissions offices; Veterans Upward Bound; Asian American Civic Association; Helmets to Hardhats; and Veterans Training School.

The seminar concludes with individual resume reviews facilitated by the University’s Human Resources staff and alumni human resource professionals in addition to representatives from Massachusetts’ Executive Office of Labor and Workforce Development and One-Stop Career Centers. Participants should bring cover letters and resumes.

Refreshments and a complimentary lunch will be provided. RSVP required.

Suffolk University is a member of the Yellow Ribbon G.I. Education Enhancement Program and offers veterans enrolling in the University up to $25,000 in grant money annually while they pursue a degree.
