10/21/2011

Career Week, the annual fall series of events and workshops sponsored by the Office of Career Services and Cooperative Education, brings working professionals, including Suffolk University alumni, to the University campus from Oct. 24 to Nov. 3.

The event is designed to heighten career awareness, enhance job search savvy and provide access to employers for undergraduate and graduate students, and alumni.

“Career Week is an opportunity for the entire Suffolk community to focus on the career aspirations of our students,” said Paul Tanklefsky, director of Career Services and Cooperative Education. “In this challenging job market, we want to provide our students with the most up-to-date resources, tools and career smarts to compete successfully.”

Social media expert Dan Schawbel, author of Me 2.0: 4 Steps to Building Your Future, will deliver the keynote address “Establishing Your Personal Brand with Employers” at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, October 25, in room 427/429 of the Sawyer Building. Schawbel was named one of the “30 Under 30: America’s Coolest Young Entrepreneurs” by Inc. Magazine.

Career Week events also include Faculty Career Share Day; the Majors/Minors Expo, targeted to freshmen and sophomore students; the Communication and Marketing Careers Information Exchange; Professional Dining Etiquette; the Sawyer Business School Networking Night; and the Graduate Student Job Fair.
