University alumnus Eric Heins is putting his talent to work to aid the victims of the Japanese earthquake.

The 2009 graduate of the New England School of Art and Design  at Suffolk University and owner of Corter Leather, has designed a leather bracelet with a red button to show support for Japan.

In an interview with the Boston Metro, Heins said that as an undergraduate student at NESAD he “drew inspiration from Japanese leathersmiths to create his own business.”

The handmade bracelets cost $20 with $15.50 going to the Red Cross.

Heins has donated almost $30,000 to the relief effort.
