Religious Festivals in Historical Italy and Boston

Lecture and Luncheon Hosted by
The Suffolk University Alumni Association

Italian history has been characterized by extraordinary displays of public devotion. Italy's rich and poor unite to celebrate religious festivals and processions: Italian immigrants brought these customs to America and Boston. Suffolk University history professor Matteo Casini and author August Ferraiuolo will discuss public religious practices that originated in Italy's ancient cities and endure in Boston's North End.
