20 Points & 10 Rebounds for Sophomore in Rams Victory


Sophomore Jacqueline Vienneau scored 20 points, 10 rebounds, and five assists to lead the Suffolk University Women's Basketball team (3-4 overall) to a 73-56 victory over Nichols College (2-5 overall) on Saturday afternoon at the Regan Gymnasium.

Vienneau scored 12 of her points in the second half as the Rams exploded for 42 points after a slow first half.

Sophomore Lindsey Rogers finished the game with 16 points for Suffolk, while junior Meghan Black put in 12 points for the Rams.

For Nichols, senior Jessica Nelson scored 16 points and was the team's leading rebounder with seven, while senior Ashley Robidoux scored 15 points.

Suffolk broke the game open midway through the second period going on an 18-5 run that saw them extend their lead by 19 points with seven and a half minutes remaining as Vienneau connected on a jumper. The Rams would continue to score, shooting 48 percent from the field as a team in the second half.

Freshman Jennifer Ruys scored 10 points along with seven rebounds for the Rams, while junior Mary Garon also had seven rebounds. Suffolk held the edge on the glass with a 45-35 margin.

The Rams travel to Regis College Tuesday evening for a 6 p.m. game.
