• A day with Dr. David McCann

McCann's visit includes poetry discussion and informal talk over tea

Dr. David McCann, visiting scholar and poet from Harvard's Department of East Asian Languages and Civilizations, will be at Suffolk on Thursday, January 27, 2011 for a full day of events.

Dr. McCann's two most recent poetry collections are Urban Temple; Sijo, Twisted and Straight, Bo-Leaf Books, 2010 and The Way I Wait for You, Codhill Press, 2007.

At 2:30pm, Dr. McCann will host a Korean Shijo poetry workshop, exploring Korea's most popular form of traditional poetry, and encouraging students to write their own shijo in English. Munce Conference Room, Archer Building 110, 20 Derne Street, Boston.

At 4pm, Dr. McCann welcomes faculty and students for informal conversation and tea. Poetry Room, Suffolk University Library, 73 Tremont Street, Boston.

From 5:30pm to 6:30pm, Dr. McCann will discuss poetry and read from his latest publications. Poetry Room, Suffolk University Library, 73 Tremont Street, Boston.
