The Suffolk University Women’s Soccer team earned selection into the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division-III New England Women’s Soccer tournament. The Rams drew the number seven seed with a 13-3-1 overall record during the 2010 season. Suffolk will travel to Beverly, Mass. on Wednesday, November 10 to take on number two seed Endicott College (15-5-2) at 4:00pm.
Suffolk will be making their first appearance in an ECAC sponsored tournament as they claimed the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) regular season title, finishing league play with a 10-2 overall record. The Rams lost to Emmanuel College, 3-1 in the GNAC Quarterfinals.
Endicott, representatives of the Commonwealth Coast Conference (TCCC), fell just shy of consecutive conference championships as they lost to Roger Williams University, in their league finals. Endicott will be making their first ECAC appearance since 2002, after seven straight trips to the NCAA Tournament.
The game will feature two of the nation’s top offenses as both teams rank among the top-50 scoring teams in all of NCAA Division-III Women’s Soccer. Suffolk is currently ranked 8th, scoring 3.92 goals per game, while Endicott has put out 2.95 goals per game, which ranks 46th.
The winner of Wednesday’s game will move on to play the winner of the UMass-Boston(10-2-6)/Norwich(13-8) game in the semi-finals on Saturday. The championship game of the eight-team single elimination tournament will be held on Sunday, November 14.
