Suffolk University joins Road Scholar and Empower Peace’s Women2Women program in presenting "Women’s Rights Are Human Rights" at 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 6, at Suffolk University Law School.
The program will explore whether the nature of women’s leadership has changed since Hillary Clinton’s groundbreaking speech at the UN’s Fourth World Conference on Women in Beijing in 1994.
Participants will have the opportunity to listen to Clinton’s speech before Paula Newburg discusses with Madeleine Kunin -- who was with Clinton in Beijing -- the impact that speech had on the conference and the world.
Panelists also will talk about women serving in elected office and/or actively involved in broadening the representation of women in appointed and elected office in Massachusetts.
