Sophie Becker, MA Economics from Stockholm School of Economics,a diploma in international relations from Institut d'Etudes Politiques de Paris, she a fellow at Harvard's Weatherhead Center for International Affairs.
 
Sophie Belfrage Becker is a Swedish diplomat with extensive UN experience. She has been with the Swedish Ministry for Foreign Affairs for over ten years, and she spent five and a half years at the Sweden's Permanent Mission to the UN in New York. In New York, Ms Becker represented Sweden in the UN on matters relating to development, such as health and macroeconomic policies as well as the Millennium Development Goals. She also represented her government on the executive boards of UNICEF and UNFPA. In the fall of 2009, she negotiated a number of UN resolutions on behalf of the European Union, as Sweden held the rotating presidency of the EU. Ms Becker has also worked at the Swedish Embassy in New Delhi and as a special adviser to the Swedish State Secretary for Foreign Affairs.
 Before entering the diplomatic service, Ms Becker worked as a journalist in Sweden. She has a master's degree in economics from the Stockholm School of Economics and a diploma in international relations from Institut d'Etudes Politiques de Paris. Last Spring, she was a fellow at Harvard's Weatherhead Center for International Affairs.
