• Unrepentant: Kevin Annett and Canada's Genocide

Award-winning filmmaker presents clips and speaks on his documentary

Thursday, March 11, 2010
Sawyer 427
8 Ashburton Place, Boston

The Government Department is proud to announce a film presentation by Rev. Kevin Annett, whistle-blowing clergyman, author and filmmaker.  Rev. Annett has led a grassroots movement in Canada for nearly twenty years to document and disclose crimes against humanity committed in Indian residential schools run by both Catholic and Protestant churches.  He is a community minister who lives and works with aboriginal and low-income people in the downtown east side of Vancouver, Canada.

The focus of Rev. Annett's lectures in Boston will be on the historical and religious roots of genocide in North America, the intergenerational impact of this genocide on aboriginal and non-native communities alike, and the campaign to hold religious bodies liable and accountable for their crimes against children and indigenous people.

For more information, please call the Government Department at 617-557-2093.
