Felix Wemheuer, PhD., University of Vienna presents the lecture "Famine and Socialism: Exploring the Cases of China and the Soviet Union."  Why did both China and the Soviet Union experience massive famine episodes in the twentieth century?  Because of broken systems, or political imperatives?
