'Covers the concepts, techniques and tools used in the analysis, design and implementation of information systems from both conceptual and practical perspectives. Fundamental information systems concepts, a systems life cycle approach and various systems analysis tools are used to solve business problems. A variety of pedagogical tools will be used including lectures, cases, assignments and a project involving the design, analysis and prototyping of an information system with its databases. From the initial project scope and definition of system requirements, database schema, application architecture and GUI, the student uses industry standard templates to prepare a real life case study. Additionaly, the course focuses upon using Object Oriented analysis and design techniques including the UML.'
