The Ford Hall Forum at Suffolk University presents "Afghanistan," a panel discussion that will look at the roots of the current crisis and how to move toward a better future.

The panelists are:

  • Paul Fitzgerald and Elizabeth Gould, coproducers of the 1981 PBS documentary Afghanistan Between the Wars and authors of Invisible History: Afghanistan's Untold Story

  • Nick Mills, associate professor of Journalism at Boston University, award-winning broadcaster, and author of Karzai

  • Sima Wali, former Afghan exile and current president of Refugee Women in Development

  • Moderator: Alan Berger of the Boston Globe’s editorial board

The discussion will focus on what a peaceful, stable, and productive Afghanistan would look like and what the new American administration can do to help Afghans realize this goal.

The "Afghanistan" forum will take place from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Thursday, May 7, at the Rabb Auditorium in the Boston Public Library main branch in Copley Square.
