The Ford Hall Forum at Suffolk University presents Juan Enriquez discussing "Financial Crises, Technology, and Why Boston Might Just be the Center of the Universe (at least for now)."

Today's almost unprecedented economic crisis coincides with an extraordinary scientific age. On the one hand, we are witnessing unprecedented wealth destruction. On the other hand there are, especially in Boston, extraordinary opportunities to create the next great industries and power the global economy.

Enriquez, managing director of Excel Medical Ventures, founder of many successful companies, and best-selling author of As the Future Catches You, will explore why life sciences will be the "dominant language and economic driver of this century" and why Boston is perhaps the single most interesting place on the planet at this particular time.

His appearance will take place from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Thursday, April 16, 2009, at the Boston Public Library's Rabb Auditorium in Copley Square.

The Ford Hall Forum is the nation’s oldest free public lecture series. It promotes freedom of speech and fosters an informed and effective citizenry through events that illuminate the key issues facing our society.

The forum presents knowledgeable and thought-provoking speakers, including some of the most controversial opinion leaders of our times, in settings that facilitate frank and open debate.
