This presentation will examine the challenges and opportunities associated with international migration.  It will focus on Spain, which over the last decade has experienced one of the most spectacular migratory transformations in the world.  From a traditional country of emigrants it has become a net recipient of people from all over and has welcomed over 4 million immigrants.  This development has had profound cultural, economic, social and political implications.
