Tim Westmoreland, a Visiting Professor of Law at the Geogetown University Law Center, will speak on "Federal Budgets and Health Reform" at the Health Law and Policy Forum on Wednesday, Feb. 25.

Westmoreland has been a Visiting Professor of Law at the Georgetown University Law Center since 2001. From 1979 - 1995, he served as Counsel to the Subcommittee on Health and the Environment in the U.S. House of representatives. From 1995 - 1999, he was the Senior Policy Fellow at the Law Center's Federal Legislation Clinic.

From 1999 - 2001, Westmoreland was the Director of the Medicaid program for the Federal government. He has worked extensively on public health and health finance policy. Westmoreland was counsel to the Advisory Committee on Tobacco Policy and Public Health and an advisor to the Henry J. Kaiser Family Foundation and the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation. 

He is the beneficiary of a Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Investigator in Health Policy Research Award.  He holds a Bachelor of Arts from Duke University and a J.D. from the Yale Law School.
