Women's Soccer Team Wins National Coaches Award

The Suffolk University women's soccer team was awarded a Gold medal for Ethics/Sportsmaship by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America for the 2008 season.

Suffolk was one of seven winners this year in both men's and women's college programs across the country. Gold medal winners included teams from NCAA Divisions I, II, and III as well as NJCAA and NAIA programs. The Rams were the only NCAA Dvision III program in New England to earn this honor.

Awards will be handed out at the NSCAA/Adidas College Coaches Awards Reception on Thursday, Jan. 15 in St. Louis, MO. The Ethics/Sportsmanship Award is one of the most difficult to achieve in the entire NSCAA awards program.

Suffolk freshman Leslie Hayden (Ross, CA) was named to the Great Northeast Athletic Conference All-Sportsmanship team for the 2008 season. Hayden was also named Rookie of the Year in the GNAC.
