Law Dean Lectures in Taiwan

1/7/2009

Law School Dean Alfred Aman, Jr., traveled to Taipei, Taiwan, this fall and delivered a lecture on “The Domestic Face of Globalization” at the National Chengchi University College of Law.

During his visit, part of a cooperative agreement with the National Chengchi University College of Law, Aman also participated in a faculty seminar on the “Globalization of Legal Education” and visited a law class to present an example of the Socratic Method used in American law schools.

“I was deeply impressed by the interdisciplinary and comparative aspects of the law program and faculty at National Chengchi University College of Law,” said Aman. “A creative and comparative spirit of analysis pervaded all of our discussions. It was an exciting learning experience for me.”

The two law schools plan to collaborate on student and faculty research, engage in exchange programs, and work to develop additional ways of strengthening ties.
