• Steven Russo, MSF '99 Speaks at Annual Finance Reception

Steven Russo, MSF '99 addressed a crowd of 100+ at the Annual MS in Finance Fall Reception. Steve spoke about his experiences as a Suffolk student and as a professional. He provided interesting insight on how to flourish in an economy that is in a state of crisis. He asserted that “the best growth experiences are a product of change or transformation and that environments that are in a state of flux may not be as stable, but they can offer the opportunity to expand your horizons and skills.”

Steve is Vice President, Investment Officer for Plimoth Investment Advisors.   He received both his BS in Economics and MS in Finance from Suffolk University.  He also holds a CFA designation from the CFA Institution and is a member of the Boston Security Analyst Society.  Steve periodically appears on NBC 10 News Sunrise with Frank Coletta, giving valuable commentary about the economy .  He can also be heard on local talk radio co-hosting Investment Spotlight, a monthly program educating consumers on the economy and investing.

The overwhelming message presented to the audience by Steve was to never settle for complacency which can be achieved by constantly enhancing your skills. Lastly, he stressed the importance of capitalizing on the knowledge of your co-workers, supervisors, and mentors.  Bottom line—Stay challenged.

Attendees included current students, alumni, faculty, administrators and guests. The reception was held at the Downtown Harvard Club this past October.
