What Is your Legacy?

Jeffrey Zaslow

9/16/2008

Wall Street Journal columnist and best-selling author Jeffrey Zaslow will speak at the Suffolk University Alumni Leadership Conference lunch at 12:45 p.m. Saturday, September 20, 2008.

Zaslow’s topic -- "What Is your Legacy?" -- stems from the international bestseller The Last Lecture, which he co-authored with the late Randy Pausch.

Pausch, a computer science professor at Carnegie Mellon, gave his “last lecture” after being diagnosed with terminal cancer. His talk, “Really Achieving Your Childhood Dreams,” was about living life to the fullest.

Zaslow attended the lecture and wrote about it in his Wall Street Journal “Moving On” column, which focuses on life transitions. The column about Pausch created a spark that led tens of millions of people around the world to watch footage of the lecture on the Internet or on television.

Zaslow was drawn to the Randy Pausch story because he writes about the many emotionally charged transitions that people face in their lives, from finding a spouse to losing a job, from a child’s first crush to an old person’s last wishes.
