The exhibit String Theories, at the New England School of Art & Design gallery September 18 to October 25, 2008, includes works by Paul Andrade, Lou Cohen, Keith Francis, and William Frese, who are interpreting the concepts presented in the string theory of physics.
A number of events are planned to complement the exhibit:
Lecture and Concert: 1-2:30 p.m. Tuesday, September 23, at the C. Walsh Theatre. MIT Physics Professor Washington Taylor will lecture on string theory. Lou Cohen and James Coleman will perform, accompanied by a short film by William Frese. The String Theories exhibition catalogue features essays by Washington Taylor, professor of physics in the Center for Theoretical Physics at MIT; gallery Curator James Manning; and exhibiting artists Paul Andrade, Lou Cohen, Keith Francis, and William Frese.
