New Faculty Orientation

7/18/2008

The Center for Teaching Excellence will present two days of activities in late August to build community among new and
adjunct faculty.

The New Faculty Orientation, to be held on Tuesday, August 26, and Wednesday, August 27, 2008, will feature a welcome breakfast with University President David J. Sargent, teaching workshops, and roundtable discussions with colleagues.

“One way to ensure new faculty success and to provide a context and a feeling of welcome, is to bring faculty together at
the very beginning to get to know each other," said Donna Qualters, associate professor and director of the Center for Teaching Excellence. “This also builds interdisciplinary connects which are so important in today’s educational environment. It’s really the first step in helping them succeed.”
