Shedding Light on Energy - Free Workshop and Film Night

Suffolk University will host a free community event to raise awareness and generate dialogue about energy conservation, efficiency, and renewable energy.  The event is being co-sponsored by the Beacon Hill Civic Association, Boston Climate Action Network, Clean Water Action, and the Mass Energy Consumers Alliance.

Date:  Monday June 23, 2008

Location:  Suffolk University, 73 Tremont Street, Boston, 1st floor Amenities Center (conveniently located less than a five-minute walk from the Blue, Green, Orange, Red, and Silver Lines).

Time:   6-8pm

The night will include a showing of the documentary “Kilowatt Ours,” a one-hour documentary by Jeff Barrie, which examines the environmental and social consequences of America’s voracious appetite for coal-generated electricity and suggests solutions that are surprisingly accessible and affordable to the average American. 

Complimentary light appetizers will be available.  Suffolk will be distributing free compact fluorescent light bulbs.  The electricity used at this event will be offset by a contribution to Mass Energy’s New England Wind Fund, which supports the development of local clean energy projects.
